Gaetano recently started attending Village Board meetings, the Town Hall meeting held in January, and talking to residents to learn about the issues and opportunities in our Village and decided that it would be an opportune time to give back to Wayne as a public servant. He is a 25-year resident of Wayne and he and his wife raised their two sons here. After hearing about his willingness to serve, a number of residents who knew Gaetano and his background and his willingness to dig in and help his Woods of Wayne neighbors also encouraged him to run for the open Trustee seat.

He filed with the intent to run as an independent candidate and met with both incumbents and challengers to understand their perspectives and positions. His conclusion after those meetings was that our values, beliefs, goals and collaborative approach match his inclusive and teamwork driven management style. Additionally, he feels that our experience is key for the growth of the other Trustees, all having less than four years of experience on the Board.

When we met with Gaetano, we were impressed by his successful business career that includes over 20 years of executive leadership at AT&T, owning and running his own consulting firm and teaching part-time as an Adjunct at Loyola University Chicago. It was also rewarding to see that Gaetano and his wife were volunteers at Wayne Elementary School when their sons were attending and we concurred with his belief that “the spirit of this town is anchored on community and respect.” There will be additional information on Gaetano posted on this website shortly and we encourage all to fill in the box and Write-In Gaetano Bevente on your ballot for the April 4th election.
